With over 78 years of experience in delivering high-quality outdoor lighting solutions worldwide, Noral GmbH continues to build on its technical heritage with a strategic focus on the Swedish market. As part of this direction, Noral GmbH Managing Director Frank Veldhoven held a strategic meeting and formal handshake ceremony with Timo G. Bergström, the company’s representative in Sweden, at Noral GmbH headquarters in Hamburg.
The meeting focused on Noral GmbH’s second-quarter activities for the Swedish market, product planning for the upcoming period, and technical preparations aligned with regional market requirements. Key topics included the expectations of the Swedish market, regional standards, product performance criteria, and long-term market positioning, particularly in street, road, and tunnel lighting applications.
Timo G. Bergström’s strong specialist background in street, road, and tunnel lighting plays an important role in Noral GmbH’s strategic planning for Sweden. Through his experience at General Electric, BB-Lightconcepts, Rexel, and Infragross, he has gained extensive regional expertise in business development and technical sales within street, road, and tunnel lighting. Rexolution was also part of his mission within Rexel.
As part of this strategic planning process, Noral GmbH is evaluating its product range for the Swedish market with a focus on technical performance, durability, long service life, and a beyond-standard product approach. For luminaires developed for demanding applications such as street, road, and tunnel lighting, environmental resistance, optical performance, electrical reliability, and ease of maintenance are among the key product criteria.
As only one of the new features, the Extensive AST(Acid Salt Tests) durability approach has been set at a minimum of 2,000 hours for Noral products, exceeding the regional 1,400-hour benchmark. Assessed in line with EN 9227 and ASTM B117, this approach supports Marine Qualicoat, one of Noral’s signature technical competences for coating quality and long-term performance under demanding environmental conditions. Photometric and electrical tests are carried out in a UL-accredited laboratory, reinforcing Noral GmbH’s commitment to quality, reliability, and compliance.
With its “Beyond the Norm” approach, Noral GmbH aims not only to meet existing standards, but also to base its product development processes on higher technical expectations. In this direction, the company is developing lighting solutions for the Swedish market with a strong focus on measurable performance, reliability, and sustainable use in street, road, and tunnel lighting.
The strategic meeting and formal handshake ceremony held in Hamburg represent an important step in Noral GmbH’s new planning phase for the Swedish market. Building on Timo G. Bergström’s regional expertise and Noral’s technical product approach, the company aims to establish a stronger, more focused, and beyond-standard position in Sweden.
